the allan family top 10 of twenty-ten

we are glad we are still around and have lived to see another year! 2010 was happy, sad, hard, and exciting. but here we are and here's to 2011!

in 2010 (in no particular order)...

10. we had family pictures taken. our first "pictures" since our wedding! this makes the top 10 because we both hate pictures and being in front of the camera...

9. i know i said "in no particular order," but i'm kind of upset that i made this pic #9...we found out in may that we are going to be parents! our baby boy is due in 4 more weeks and we couldn't be happier (and more nervous)!

8. after all this time, i finally trained and ran and FINISHED my first half-marathon! don't forget that my knee gave out half-way in (leaving me crippled and in a brace for a month) and i threw up 7 times in the couple hours following the race (and for two days after), but hey, it feels good to say i finally did it!

7. we went to the cabin for the demolition derby and pioneer day parade in fairview! this is my favorite thing about summer. my pregnant-self fly-fished with dad and jeff, and i'm proud to say i am the only one who caught a fish.


6. my younger brother griffin left on his mission in june. i am so mad at him for leaving me for ecuador, but i guess i'll be okay. he is such a good missionary!

5. oh, but don't even worry that i saw my favorite tweenage band for the SECOND time in concert this summer (that made it like my 30th concert). that's right, backstreet's back, and i squealed like a teenie-bopper piggy the whole time. i still love you, brian.

4. my grandpa went off chemo and started to get his strength, weight, and even some of his hair back! he is my favorite person and it was really emotionally distressing to see him sick and take turns with him in the rehab center to keep him company. i'm so glad he made it another year, when we were sure he wouldn't.

3. in may, we went to lake powell with jeff's parents. little did we know this was strictly a fishing trip (yes, i caught more fish)...but jeff managed to get about ten minutes of wakeboarding in in the 4 days we were down there...

2. we walked on "ice cold fire" and "woke up on another planet" at a family reunion. we both walked on hot coals (fire walking) and i got a video of jeff doing it. congrats to us for not burning our feet off.

1. we managed to make it to our 2-year wedding anniversary. can you believe it? and we still kind of like each other!
